Harriet Whitehurst Jones was born and raised in the Williston- Gainesville area her whole life. She Graduated from the University of Florida in 1975. Having worked in banking, teaching school and owning a retail Gift Shop-Dress Shop she also has been in the decorating business and flooring business for over 35 years. Harriet purchased a local flooring company in 1996 and immediately joined Carpet One. Carpet One was a wonderful addition to her flooring store as it is a Co-op buying group and allowed her to buy product for her store at lower prices so she could pass this on to her customers. In 1999 a second location was added to serve the other side of town where the town was growing. Harriet, her husband Larry, their two daughters, Maggie and Lexie, and their son in law, Joseph, have all worked at the store. Harriet try's hard to sell quality product at all price points and excellent service and installation to their customers.
Harriet's mission at Carpet One Floor and Home in Gainesville, Florida is "To provide the best product at the best prices along with the best installation and satisfaction"
Her family came to the Gainesville area in a covered wagon at the turn of the Century over 115 years ago. She lives on the family Cattle Ranch and Farm just outside of Gainesville. She is a true a Florida Cracker. She prides herself in giving family values of caring to her customers, employees, installers and friends. If you buy from Carpet One you become part of the family. Family and community are ever present in their goals to serve their customer's with satisfaction. Lawrence A. Jones, known as Larry, came to Gainesville when he was in Jr. High School in the 60's. He attended Santa Fe Community College, then started in the building business working for a local builder. He started building custom homes in the late 70's, and developed 2 subdivisions in the 80's. He has been working for Carpet One Floor and Home since the early 90's selling products and specializing in commercial, builder and retail flooring. His dedication to quality product and installation is his mission at the 2 Gainesville locations |
 | Cathy Lewis Flooring Consultant
Cathy Wilding-Lewis grew up in Miami and moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida. Cathy grew up in a design based family. Her mother was involved in the textile industry and her father was an artist. After graduating, she went to work in her parents design studio, and later Carpet One. She has 25 years of experience in both the window and floor covering business. Cathy's time in Gainesville, and with her experience, she has built a large customer data base. |
 | Keith Craig Flooring Consultant
Keith grew up in the Gainesville area, and is a third generation in the floor covering business. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the flooring business himself. Keith covers commercial applications, as well as retail applications. He is especially well versed in tile, as well as all resilient and carpet products. Keith's experience and family history in the flooring business allows him to provide great knowledge to our business and customers. |
